Dr Edward Tsoi

MBBS MPH FRACP PhD
Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Endoscopist

Having completed his medical degree from Monash University in 2006, Dr Edward Tsoi undertook his postgraduate specialty training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine at Monash Health, Austin Health and Northern Health in Victoria. He then completed his Master of Public Health from University of Newcastle in 2015 and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians later that year.

Edward then completed 3 years of subspecialty training in advanced endoscopy at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. He has a special interest in Barrett’s oesophagus, endoscopic mucosal resections, evaluation of small bowel luminal disease through double balloon enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy.

In 2021, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Melbourne.  His thesis looked at “addressing controversies in management of Barrett’s oesophagus related dysplasia”.

Dr Tsoi is now working at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and  Northern Health, he manages problems in all areas of gastroenterology including liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and bowel cancer screening. He is involved in ongoing teaching of medical students and has published widely in international journals and presented at numerous national and international meetings.

Dr Tsoi bulk bills all pensioners and concession card holders for his clinic consults.

He also speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese.

Dr Puneet Mahindra

Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist & Endoscopist

Dr. Puneet Mahindra did his initial training at University Hospital Aintree (Liverpool) and University Hospital Coventry. He then finished his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Box Hill hospital and the Royal Melbourne hospital (FRACP) He further accomplished 2 years of fellowship in advanced endoscopy at St Vincent’s hospital with research on Barrett’s oesophagus and oesophageal cancers.


He is dedicated to the teaching of trainee gastroenterologists and endoscopy nurses. He visits Alexandra district health as a part of service to wider community in rural Australia. Dr. Mahindra bulk bills all pensioners and concession card holders for his clinic consults.

He performs gastroscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy from various locations Special interests in Gastroenterology include:

  • Barrett’s oesophagus
  • IBS and functional gut
  • Bowel cancer prevention and screening
  • Crohn’s and Ulcerative colitis
  • Liver disease including Viral Hepatitis
  • Video Capsule Endoscopy (Pill Cam)

Dr Manjeet Sandhu

Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Endoscopist

Dr Manjeet Sandhu graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009. She underwent her specialist training at St Vincent’s Hospital and Monash Health. Manjeet obtained her FRACP in 2016, and completed her PhD in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Evaluating new therapeutic targets) in 2021.

Manjeet is patient focused and committed to delivering high quality care. She currently holds a public appointment at Monash Medical Centre and Casey Hospital.

Her specialist interest includes inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer screening and prevention, irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease and liver disease.
Manjeet speaks Malay and Punjabi.

Dr Antony Jacob

MBBS, MRCP, FRACP
Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Interventional Endoscopist

Dr Antony Jacob is a consultant gastroenterologist and interventional endoscopist. He currently works as a specialist gastroenterologist at Northern Health and a visiting gastroenterologist at Austin Health and Goulburn Valley Health. Dr Jacob completed his advanced gastroenterology training at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Western Health and Austin Health. Furthermore, he has completed 2 years of fellowship training in Advanced Endoscopy at Austin Health. He is a member of the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA) and Australian Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Association (AGEA).

Dr Jacob has worked in multiple health systems and has excellent medical knowledge and experience. He has a special interest in both basic and advanced endoscopic procedures including diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP. He also has an active interest in the management of liver and pancreato-biliary disorders, colorectal cancer screening, management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr Andrew Tsoi

Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Endoscopist

Dr Andrew Tsoi’s extensive academic background underpins his comprehensive approach to medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Griffith University in 2016, followed by a Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) and a Master of Public Health from the University of Sydney. In 2024, he was awarded Fellowships from both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Australasian College of Legal Medicine. His training includes positions at St Vincent’s Hospital and Northern Health, as well as a Liver Research Fellowship at Eastern Health, where he developed a research focus on fatty liver disease and biomarkers for hepatocellular carcinoma.

Outside of clinical work, Dr Tsoi is actively involved in medical education and research, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed gastroenterology journals. He currently works at Eastern Health. In addition to his medical qualifications, Dr A Tsoi holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria. His dual qualifications in medicine and law provide a unique perspective on complex medico-legal issues and underpin his active involvement in the medicolegal field. He has a particular interest in patient capacity and consent and has authored an Honours thesis examining the rights of competent minors with gender identity dysphoria to consent to reversible sex affirmation treatment.

Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, Dr Tsoi is committed to delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive care to a diverse patient population.
